A 23 year-old civilian was seriously injured when an explosive device fitted to the vehicle he was driving detonated. He was rushed to Benghazi’s Al-Jalaa Hospital where he had to undergo emergency surgery to amputate part of one leg, LANA said.

American newspaper the Global Post reported that the second victim was the son of a senior Naval officer. It quoted a security source as saying that the officer, who was in Russia on a training program, had received a number of threats.
